Once Upon A Time Recap - "Sympathy of the De Vil" (S04E19)

Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor.

This episode was insane. We meet a young Cruella as she runs through the woods while being chased by two Dalmatians (clever). She is stopped by her mother who is totally giving off cold hearted and evil vibes. We find out that Cruella's father has died and her mother won't let her leave. She takes her to the attic and tells Cruella that will be her new room. Cruella accuses her of hiding her away like one of her dogs. Her mother locks her in.

Present day Cruella nearly runs Maleficent over. They talk and Mal is seriously pissed off and wants to know why Cruella lied about her baby being dead. Cruella taunts her by saying they left the baby to die in the woods and Mal promises to kill her as she turns into a dragon. Cruella puts her under her spell and makes Mal take a nap in the middle of the road before driving off.
Gold leaves the Author in his cabin and meets with Belle at the wishing well. She apologizes and he tells her that he still loves her and shows her his heart which is all black except for one spot. He says when that spot is darkened, he will lose the ability to love. They cry and kiss until Belle pulls back and coldly tells him that Will is a better kisser. Regina appears holding Belle's heart in her hand and tells Belle to leave and forget what happened. She looks at Gold and tells him that he won't warn Zelena that she is coming or she will crush Belle's heart.

Cruella finds the Author in the cabin and threatens to kill him, but he's not afraid. It's clear they know one another. She leaves and he is clearly a little shaken. In another part of town, Henry gets off the bus and finds Pongo (yes the dalmation) and wonders why he is out there all alone. Pongo leads him to an alley where Cruella is waiting and she makes him get in the car with her.

Regina warns the Charmings and Emma that Zelena is alive and has been pretending to be Marian. She is planning on leaving for New York to rescue him and Roland. Regina and Emma both get video messages from Henry and watch it together. Henry tells them he has been kidnapped by Cruella and she appears on the message telling them to bring her the Author's dead body or she'll kill Henry. Needless to say, both mothers are PISSED.

When Gold returns he is angry that the Author didn't tell him about his past with Cruella and he's even more pissed that she's taunting the Savior by kidnapping Henry and threatening his life. The Author down plays it and hands Gold a napkin which he reads and suddenly he doesn't seem to care as much.

Young adult Cruella is listening to a radio in her attic until her mother comes in and takes the radio and scolds her daughter for stealing it. They hear a knock on the door and she leaves, locking Cruella up again. The Author, who goes by Isaac, is at her door and says he works for the newspaper and would like to interview her because of her highly renowned dog training. She begrudgingly accepts and he starts asking her questions, hinting at magic. He sees the portraits on the wall and assumes they are relatives but she coldly informs him they're husbands. He makes a callous remark and she kicks him out even though he apologizes and says he is just looking for a good story. She throws him out on the lawn and Cruella gets his attention from the attic. She tells him she has stories to tell, but he has to get her down from there- which he does. He offers to take her somewhere quiet, but she wants to go somewhere loud because she's been living in an attic. He takes her to a club in his car (which later becomes hers) and it appears they are in the 1920s...kind of. He orders her a gin (ha ha).

The heroes plot on how to get Henry back. Emma, Regina, and Hook leave to search for him and Emma makes another cold remark to her parents about not trusting them. On their walk, Regina tells Emma she's acting like a petulant child and her parents were only trying to do what was best for her. She points out that both her and Hook have done bad things and she argues that while that is true, neither of them have ever tried to sell their lives as people who only did the right thing. Hook offers that even Heroes make mistakes but then they hear Henry calling for help. They can't agree on which direction it's coming from so they split up. Regina and Hook find conch shells in the directions they go and realize they've been tricked.

We flash back to Cruella and Isaac and they talk. Cruella shares that her mother poisoned all of her husbands and ripped the trumpet flowers out of the garden because they are Cruella's favorite. Isaac feels bad for her and they realize their night is coming to an end. Isaac insists it doesn't have to and he shows Cruella is magic pen and magic ink. He explains that he records stories and they are in one of many dimensions. He asks her what year it is when she scoffs at him and she doesn't know. He proves it to her by writing that she's wearing a diamond necklace and earrings, and when it appears she believes him. He writes that she has control over animals and she says she has to go confront her mother alone and she'll meet him back at his hotel room.

Her mother goes to his hotel room and asks where Cruella is. He says he doesn't know and she warns him not to trust her. She says that Cruella poisoned her own father and smiled about it. She also killed her mother's other husbands. She ripped up the trumpet flowers because they're poisonous. She warns him that Cruella will take what he loves most and destroy it. When she leaves, he looks and finds his pen is gone. When she arrives home, Cruella is waiting for her. She takes control of the dogs and makes them kill her mother.

When Isaac arrives at the house, Cruella is sewing in the attic. He asks where her mother is and she replies that she is gone. She holds up a coat made of Dalmatian fur and adds that her precious dogs are with her now. That was so creepy. He is confused and she laughs simply saying that most people try to hide their darkness or fight it, but ever since she was little she has always wanted to splash around in the darkness- it was more fun that way. They fight over the ink and pen and ink is spilled on Cruella, causing her pretty blonde hair to become white and black. He writes something down before Cruella tries to shoot him. The gun doesn't work and she demands to know what he did. He said he took a page from her playbook and walks away.

Charming and Snow go to the cabin and the Author is afraid. He reveals Cruella's secret to them. SHe can't kill anyone. They realize that she is going to push Emma and darken her heart. They race to get to her.

Emma comes face to face with Cruella who is ready to push Henry off a cliff. She keeps threatening Emma until Emma uses her magic to push Cruella off. She and Henry hold each other as Killian, Regina, and her parents arrive on the scene. Emma peaks over the cliff and sees Cruella's body and looks at it coldly. Uh-oh.

Once Upon A Time Recap - "Heart of Gold" (S04E18)

Holy plot twist batman!!!! I don't think anyone saw that one coming.

This episode was pretty Robin Hood centric so we finally got to see what has become of him, Marian, and Roland after leaving Storybrooke.

Emma, Snow, and Charming chase the Author, but fail to catch him. Snow confesses that they know the Author and he is the one who put them on the path to what they did. Emma is still furious and exclaims that it isn't an excuse for what they did and lying about it. They swear they didn't know exactly what would happen, but Emma doesn't want to hear it- she just wants to find the Author before Gold does. The Author snaps a tree branch and tries to make a pen, but Rumple appears and informs him that he knows he needs enchanted wood to make the pen, and he won't find any of that in Storybrooke. The Author panics and Rumple shows him a pen he can use and tells him that he can only have it if he writes a few happy endings. The Author clearly doesn't want to work with Rumple as he says he had the displeasure of writing him. He ultimately agrees and goes along with it and the two disappear.

Regina awakens after Rumple knocked her out, only to find that she has been handcuffed. Naturally she is furious at Gold and they argue. He shows a piece of paper that he found in her pocket and he knows it is Robin Hoods. He wonders if they've talked and he can tell they haven't, so he releases her hands and gives her the paper and his phone telling her to call.

We flash back to Robin, Marian, and Roland crossing the town line and going to New York. When they arrive in New York, things are quite a shock for them. Roland complains about the noise and Robin struggles to decipher the map to Neal's old apartment. Apparently Regina gave him the key and said he could stay there. Marian goes to pick Roland up and sets her purse down, and it is stolen by a thief of a bike. Not one to let him woman be robbed, Robin Hood (aka the greatest thief ever) chases down the robber and even jumps a horse to do so. He tackles him in a park and nearly punches him before yelling at him that he has no honor. Eventually they find the apartment and get another surprise- Mr. Gold walking through the front door and wondering what they're doing there. Naturally an argument over the apartment ensues until Gold collapses while grabbing his chest.

Back in the Sherwood Forest we find Robin and Marian working at their own tavern. Apparently he has given up being a thief, even though he is the best at it, until the sheriff comes and tells him his taxes are overdue. Robin has 2 days to pay or he'll lose the tavern. Rumple comes to him and says he has been looking for the best thief in the land and everyone has pointed him to Robin. He offers him a deal: if Robin steals a potion for the heart from Oz for Rumple, then Rumple will give him gold straw. Robin accepts and is sent to Oz where he runs into Will the Knave of Hearts.

Robin waits in the hospital until Gold wakes up. He tells him that the doctors say he has had a heart attack but he knows it's because his heart is so dark. He says that even though there is no magic in this world, but if there is a magical item in the world they can use it. He asks Robin to get him the heart potion from Walt's shop (Walt was a flying monkey that Zelena sent into this world to keep tabs on Emma). Robin goes to Walt's old furniture shop, Wizard of Oak, and breaks in accidentally setting off the alarm. He searches and finds the potion, and breaks out as the cops arrive. He tells Marian what he did and she is furious that he is risking everything for Gold. Robin says he has to because it's his code.

Will helps Robin disguise himself as a guard and he sneaks into the palace in Emerald City. He finds the potion and steals some until the Wicked Witch catches him. She wants to know why Rumple sent him. He aims a bow at her and she scoffs at him. He shoots and hits one of the towers, filling the room with smoke before escaping. He meets up with Will and he apologizes saying that he didn't get the potion- he has assumed Will was going to steal it from him. Will says it's ok and that he had wanted to take it so he could move past his sister's death. Robin feels guilty and slips him the potion when they hug goodbye.

Robin gives Rumple the potion and demands he leave them alone and let them have the apartment which he agrees to. Robin leaves and Rumple takes the potion and is angry when it doesn't work. Marian shows up and reveals that she switched the potion and what he took wouldn't do anything. Rumple is confused and Marian shows a necklace she wears and it glows green and she turns into Zelena. Rumple (and I) were in pure shock! He killed her!! She reveals that her spirit left her body right before he shattered it, and when Marian nearly died she actually did die and Zelena took over her body, enchanting the necklace so her true identity would be hidden. She says how bored she has been playing Marian, but she loves how much it's hurting Regina to not be with Robin. She is keeping Regina from getting her happily ever after. She demands that Rumple force the Author to give her a happy ending as well or she'd let him die right there. He reluctantly agrees and she gives him the real potion and resumes her charade as Marian.

Robin tells Marian that he wants to steal from the rich and give to the poor. He robs the sheriff and gives the money to the townsfolk. He said he learned on his trip that when you steal for yourself you're a thief, but when you steal for others you're a hero. He wants to be a hero and she wants to join him. He gives her a necklace that he stole from Oz, the 6 leaf clover, and she promises to always wear it.

"Marian" finds Regina's contact info on Robin's cell phone and tells him he should go be with her. He said he chose Marian and their family and he is going to honor that and they're going to get back to being each other's happy endings. They kiss and in the mirror the audience sees Zelena.

In present day, Regina calls Robin's phone and is utterly shocked when Zelena answers. Zelena is delighted by this and shares how much she's enjoying being Robin's wife and that she'll see Regina soon. They hang up and Regina is furious with Gold. He admits that he does have affections for her but even they have limits. He comes first. Gold asks her who she is going to pick, and Regina furiously tells him that he turned her into a monster and she won't let him do the same thing to Emma. He coldly asks her, so you chose the Savior over Robin Hood, to which she gives a smirk.

Well there you have it folks, we have not seen the last of the Wicked Witch of the West aka Zelena!!

Once Upon A Time Recap - "Best Laid Plans" (S01E17)

Well now we know exactly what Snow and Charming did to Maleficient's baby. They track down a unicorn and touch it's horn, because according to legend it will give you a vision. They both see their baby's future but they see it differently. Charming sees a sweet little baby. Snow however sees a teenage Emma who rips her heart out and when Snow says "I'm you're mother, 'Emma' responds with "I don't care." Of course Snow is terrified and they decide they need to do something. On their way home, Snow and Charming cross paths with a peddler who needs some help with his wagon. Charming helps him and gives him some brandy because he is cold. The peddler asks which way they are going and when they say west he tells them that Maleficent has taken over and made a nest in a cave where she has laid an egg. He advises they go east and follow the path to an old man's cottage. The Charmings take his advice.

Regina, Henry, and Emma take August to the Blue Fairy when he passes out. They are all worried for him. Regina says she needs to get back to Gold with the page, so Emma makes a replica. Regina says he'll see right through that so she takes a picture of the page because the villains are only looking for the door- they don't know the Author is inside the page. Regina takes a picture and returns to Gold, Cruella, and Maleficent. She claims Emma put a protection spell on the page and she was almost caught trying to break it so she took a picture. The glare in the picture tells Rumple that the Author is in the page. He tells Regina she has to get it.

Emma and Killian talk and he is jealous of her relationship with August. She insists that they're just friends. She brings up Lily, the friend in the video she showed him, and tells him that she was her first friend and after she shut Lily out, August was the first person to get back in as a friend. She's not very good at making them. They look out the window and are put under a sleeping curse. The entire town is in fact. The only people who aren't affected are Gold, Mal, Cruella, Regina, Henry, Snow, and Charming- the latter 3 because they have been under sleeping curses before so they're immune (in that case, where the hell was Aurora?!). Henry flees to the Sorcerer's mansion while the Villains search the Charming's apartment for the book. As they walk, Mal tells Gold they are going to make a new deal. She knows he needs her, and Cruella and Ursala were just a means to bringing her back. She demands to know what happened to her child and Gold agrees if she gets the page. Regina scolds Cruella for remarking that she'd like to wring Emma's neck which causes Gold to doubt her. He tells her the book isn't there and to get it from Henry.

Snow and Charming come across the cottage where the old man (the Sorcerer) is waiting for them. He knows of their troubles and invites them in to have tea. They tell him about their different visions and he tells them it's because a child is a blank slate and can go either way based on how they are guided. Snow doesn't think this is enough and wants to make sure their child is good. The Sorcerer says there is a spell that he can do, but it is very costly and can never be undone. He could take their child's evil and put it into an empty vessel making the child pure of intent and good. Snow and Charming talk it over and decide they couldn't do that to a child, but they could do it to Mal's egg who would probably turn out just like her (sidenote-  if that were true then they shouldn't have had anything to worry about with their own baby). They find Mal's cave and steal her egg while Mal begs and pleads with them not to. Snow promises to bring the egg back.

Henry calls Snow and Charming and tells them where he is going. They tell him not to worry and they're on their way. David tells Mary Margaret that it would solve their problems if they destroy the page, even though the Author is inside. Mary Margaret worries about what would happen to Regina's happy ending. Henry hides in the mansion and a light shines out from the door on the page. The light shines on a desk drawer so Henry opens it and finds a key. He stuffs it in his pocket as Regina walks in. She tells him she needs the page as Mal and Cruella walk in as well. She warns them not to lay a hand on her son and they insist they won't if he cooperates. Regina tells him to give her the page and she gives him a look. Henry reluctantly hands it over and watches as they leave.

Snow and Charming bring Mal's egg to the Sorcerer. He makes sure they're ready and then performs the spell. When the spell is being done, they realize that the egg will be sent somewhere else. When they confront the Sorcerer, he tells them that it has to be sent to a place where it can't hurt people. As this is happen, the egg begins to crack and a baby's hand reaches out. Snow is horrified as they realize that there is a baby in the egg. Cruella and Ursala show up and try to get the egg for Mal, but they fall through the portal followed by the egg.

Gold goes into his shop and moves a passed out Belle to a bed. He tells her he loves her and he is trying to change the rules so he can repay the debt he racked up with all of his magic. He tells her he'll be back for her if he can. The Queens arrive outside of the shop and Regina gives Gold the page. He instantly knows it's fake and rips it up. He says he has been waiting for this time to come. Mal puts her under the sleeping spell. When David and Mary Margaret arrive, Henry tells his grandparents what happened and that he gave his mom the forged page. They are proud of him. He shows them the key, and goes to unlock the door but David makes him stop. He lies and says they will take care of it and it's too dangerous for Henry. After yelling at Henry, the boy leaves and David prepares to burn the page until Mary Margaret stops him. She reminds him that they are heroes and they have to do what is right, not what is easy. They have to tell Emma the truth so they don't let their lies push her to the dark side.

Snow watches Sneezy put up a beautiful glass mobile of unicorns over Emma's crib and she is upset. Charming comforts her and reminds her that they have to accept what they did and move past it so they can raise Emma to be good- which is the whole reason they've done all of this. Snow agrees and they embrace.

After finding out the truth from her parents, Emma is furious. She tries to leave and Snow tries to stop her saying "I'm your mother!" and Emma looks at her coldly and replies, "I don't care." She sits by the water until Killian finds her. She knows her parents sent him, but she doesn't care. He holds her and comforts her before telling her that her friend August is awake. She goes to see him.

Gold and the Queens take Regina to her lair and Mal insists he tells her what happened to her child- that she has earned the right to know. Gold agrees that she has, but warns her it could cause her more pain. She says she needs to know anyways. He warns her that what he is going to show her was from 30 years ago, so things have changed. He shows her an image of an infant baby girl as she's being adopted. Her father names her Lily. Mal is over joyed and teary eyes as she exclaims that she had a daughter who is alive and in this world. She swears she will find her. (notice this is the Lily that Emma met as a teenager and who was her only best friend).

Emma rushes in to see August and finds her parents there as well. August senses the tension but no one talks about it. She tells him that they can free the Author and August warns her that it might not be a good idea. He says that the Sorcerer and his Apprentice have always chosen the Author to watch and record the greatest stories that have ever happened, but this Author began manipulating the stories (it's cut to the Sorcerer scolding the Author from behind about making him perform the spell on that poor baby. The Author calmly replies that it makes for a better story and the Sorcerer says he isn't fit to do this job and responsibility) so the Sorcerer imprisoned him in the page. Emma decides to let him out so she unlocks the door and out comes the peddler. It takes a minute but Snow and Charming recognize him. Emma tells him she has questions and he says she probably does before he runs off leaving them confused.

**sidenote: when August was explaining to Emma that Authors have been recording stories for eons and it's a very important job. He goes through a quick timeline of stories/authors and mentions Walt aka Walt Disney.

Once Upon A Time Recap - "Poor Unfortunate Soul" (S04E16)

This episode revealed how Ursula became a villain. It starts with Captain Hook on the Jolly Rodger back in the days when he was working for Peter Pan. They hear a mermaid's song and nearly crash the ship into rocks. The mermaid stops singing just in time for the pirates to save the ship. It turns out the mermaid was Ursula. She is scolded by her father Poseidon, for not bringing the pirates to their death. Apparently her mother was killed by pirates and he is all about revenge. Ursula, on the other hand, wants to use her voice for good as her mother had encouraged. Her mom had taught her how to sing so her voice was all she had to keep her mother's memory alive. Her father gave her an ultimatum, so she went on land to live as a human.

After getting no where with August, Rumple forces him to take a potion that would kind of return him to his original state, i.e. his nose will grow if he lies. He knows Regina has the drawing with the door on it from the storybook, and when asked about it Regina informs everyone that she has already given it to Henry. Rumple questions August about the door and about the Author. As his nose gets dangerously close to the open fire. August informs them that The Sorcerer trapped the Author behind the door, but he doesn't know where the door is. Rumple decides to take Maleficent and Regina to the Sorcerer's mansion to look for the door, leaving Cruella to watch August while Ursula "stretches her tentacles".

Before leaving, Regina sends a message via the fireplace to Snow, Charming, Emma, and Hook that Rumple is back in town and that they turned Pinocchio back into August. Emma is concerned for her friend and they run to tell Belle so she can use the dagger on Rumple. Belle is confused and says she gave it to Hook who has no idea what she's talking about. They realize Rumple tricked her. Hook offers to talk to Ursula and get her to spill what the plan is. He says he is going to take a page out of Emma's book and give her her happy ending. He knows how to, because he's the one who took it. He leaves to find her.

In the flashback, Hook hears Ursula singing in a local tavern and confronts her quietly about being the mermaid. He thanks her for sparing his ship and offers to take her wherever she'd like to go and sing. Ursula is ecstatic. Hook is forced back onto his ship by Poseidon who gives him an enchanted shell and tells him to take Ursula's voice so she will have no choice but to return to the ocean with him. Hook refuses until Poseidon promises his squid ink which will paralyze anything and anyone- including Rumple. Hook considers it, but ultimately tells Ursula what happened. She offers to get the squid ink for him and she is successful.

Present day Hook and Ursula conjure up the Jolly Rodger, only to find that it is now a ship in a bottle. They take it to Belle and Will who help to restore it to proper size. On board, Hook gives Ursula the shell containing her voice, but it doesn't work and she still cannot sing. She says the deal is off and Hook nearly shoots her until she knocks him out with her tentacles and throws him into the ocean.

Emma busts into Rumple's cabin and Snow goes all Tangled on Cruella by hitting her in the back of the head with a frying pan. They free August and he is impressed by Emma and her magic, since she was still doubtful the last time he saw her. Ursula intrudes and wraps Snow by the neck with her tentacle.

Old Hook is about to take the squid ink when Poseidon shows up and tosses it. He yells at Hook and Ursula for trusting someone who is consumed by revenge. Hook freaks out and ultimately takes Ursula's voice. She is devestated and returns to the ocean. Hook refuses to give the shell to Poseidon so he can play hero and threatens to crush it unless Poseidon leave him alone. Poseidon also returns to the ocean and Ursula takes his trident. She transforms herself into a powerful sea witch like the one she was named after and is now more powerful than her own father.

As Hook drowns, he is saved by Ariel. You can tell she's reluctant to do it, but she's a good mermaid. Hook thanks her and she slaps him for almost ruining her happy ending, and thanks him for freeing her from the bottle. She tells him that Blackbeard started upsetting a lot of people with the Jolly Rodger and pissed off some royals in Arendelle who put the ship in the bottle. Hook is amazed that Elsa did that. (loved that Easter egg) He asks Ariel to help him with Ursula.

Hook arrives at the cabin just in time and tells Ursula he knows why it didn't work. The shell needs Poseidon's magic. Poseidon comes in and tells Ursula that a nice young mermaid found him and helped him get there through a portal (thanks Ariel!). He apologizes to her and they share a very sweet moment. He restores her voice and Ursula is so happy. She wants to return to the sea with him and be with her father again. It was really touching.

Hook tells Emma that he almost shot Ursula and she reminds him that he didn't and she got her happy ending because of him. He reminds her that he was also a villain so he is scared of losing his happy ending- Emma.

Ursula keeps good on their bargain and tells Hook that Rumple's plan is to give the villains happy endings and the only way to do that is to make Emma do it. Since she is the Savior, she took away all of the villains happy endings, but by making her evil forever- it will switch and the villains will get happy endings and the heroes won't.

Cruella catches up with Rumple, Regina, and Maleficent and tells them what happened. Later Regina appears at the Charming's where August is resting. She fills Emma in as she is pretending to get the storybook page. August wakes up and is confused about why Regina is there and she briefly mentions her double life. She asks where the door is and he says he knows but she's confused as to why his nose didn't grow when he was asked earlier. August grins and informs them that he wasn't lying because he didn't know where Henry had the page and that the page is the door. The Author is trapped somewhere in the book.

Once Upon A Time Recap - "Enter The Dragon" (S04E15)

Regina goes forward with the plan of infiltrating the Queens and finding out their plan. They don't trust that she is actually on their side so they test her with a few dangerous tests. The Charmings tell Emma what is going on and she is worried for Regina- they also inform her that Regina hasn't checked in yet.

It is revealed that back int he Enchanted Forrest, Regina quit her training with Rumple to pursue training with Maleficent because she is amazed that the sorceress could transform herself into a dragon. Rumple tells her where Maleficent is and that she took over the land by setting it on fire in her dragon form and it was so intense that there is a tree still burning. When Regina finds Maleficent she is drunk and giving up on getting her revenge on Briar Rose (who is turns out is Aurora's mother and King Stefan's wife). Regina tells her that if she can't get her revenge then there is no hope for Regina to get hers.

Maleficent shares the Queens' plan with Regina, telling her that they plan on finding the Author and making it so that villains get happy endings. Regina scoffs saying that she's been trying and getting no where. Maleficent tasks Regina with taking Pinocchio. Regina shares that she has already been there and tried that. (previously she tried getting the information out of Pinocchio but he doesn't remember and she and Gepetto go at each other until she apologizes). Regina walks into the garage and puts Gepetto under a sleeping spell and Pinocchio as well. Emma sneaks in and tries to talk Regina out of going through with it, but Regina insists that she'll be there and she'll protect the boy. She takes him and leaves her phone so Emma can't track her.

Meanwhile, at Granny's, Hook joins Belle and Will on what appears to be a date. He asks to speak to Belle alone and asks her if she still has Rumple's dagger. He says that they should move it to a different hiding place so the Queens don't find it and bring Rumple back or kill him with it. Belle agrees and hands the dagger over to Hook who insists that they never speak of this again to anyone not even each other. Later Hook appears at Gold's shop and tells Belle he hid the dagger and asks about her relationship with Will. Belle is surprised but says their relationship is easy and she isn't sure what they are, but she likes easy after being with Rumple. Hook leaves and once outside the shop, he turns into his true self- Rumple. He now has his dagger which is bad.

In the Enchanted Forrest, Regina gets Maleficinet to take the spark from the still lit tree so she can get her inner fire back. Maleficinet does it but when they're approached by King Stefan and his men, she can't turn into a dragon. King Stefan says that Maleficinet will not ruin Aurora's wedding or happiness so he is arresting her and Regina. Regina breaks free and tries to save them, but fails. Maleficinet turns into her dragon self to save them and she almost kills Stefan. They appear at Aurora's castle and Aurora is afraid of her but vows to defeat her as her mother did. Maleficinet informs her that she was going to kill Stefan and Briar Rose, but she wanted to make them suffer by hurting Aurora. She then buts her under a sleeping curse and Regina is in awe. She returns toe Rumple and puts Snow's prize winning horse under the sleeping curse and asks Rumple to take her back as a student.

Back at the cabin, they tie Pinocchio up and Rumple reveals himself as they black magic the Queens were hiding. Regina is surprised. Rumple turns Pinocchio back into August Booth.

Once Upon A Time Recap - "Unforgiven" (S04E14)

In this episode we FINALLY find out Snow and Charming's secret- well the gist of it. But for good measure, I'm not revealing it until the end just like they did in the show. ;)

Snow has a nightmare that Maleficent is back and taking her family away from her. She and David are determined to keep an eye on Cruella and Ursala. Regina gets upset when the Queens bring up her past in front of Henry who doesn't pay much attention. Cruella and Ursala head to Gold's shop. Emma and Hook cross them and Emma realizes Hook and Ursala know each other. Before she can press him for information, Charming intercepts and insists they need to keep an eye on the queens. Emma thinks he's being paranoid but she indulges and they follow them. The women steal a box from Gold's shop and Belle lets Charming know. They pull the women over and Charming finds the box and object Maleficent loved. He steals it and says he found nothing and they're free to go.

Back in the enchanted forest, the 3 Queens approach Charming and Snow and inform them that Regina stole a dark curse from Maleficent that she is planning to cast over the land. Snow and Charming want to stop it and the Queens accompany them (pretty much against the Charming's will) to a tree of knowledge that can give them the answer about how to stop the curse. The Charmings sneak away in the middle of the night to find the tree and they ask the question, but are rejected. The Queens see them and ponder why they were rejected until Maleficent puts it together. She informs them that Snow is pregnant (David's reaction was so cute) but they don't understand why the tree would reject them. Maleficent informs them that the child is a product of true love so it can be either a great hero with the potential for great goods BUT the child also has the potential to be a great villain like Maleficent. This information worries them.

Hook brings Emma lunch and when she brings up Ursala things get awkward. They have a disagreement and Hook leaves. Emma catches her parents loading up their truck and asks what they're doing. Snow lies and says they're going camping. Emma buys it and let's them go. In reality they're sneaking to the cavern under the library where Maleficent's ashes are because they're realized the queens plan to use dark magic to bring her back. The Queens and Rumple catch them but they don't see Rumple. They cut their hands, revealing that the spell requires the blood of those who hurt Maleficent the most. She is resurrected and she tells them she is going to make them suffer.

They resolve to come clean to Emma and walk in on a tender moment between Hook and Emma where Emma is apologizing and saying how much truth means to her and how she felt guilty for thinking her parents were lying to her earlier. She says that she wants to be like them and see the best in people. She sees them and invites them in and tell her that Maleficent is back.

It's revelaed that Malefient came to Snow back int he forrest and shared that they have to stop Regina. She tells Snow that she is also pregnant and they have to do this for their children. Snow (rudely and coldly) refuses to work with her- not wanting to use darkness to stop darkness.

Snow goes to Regina for help stopping the Queens and asks her to go under cover with them. She shares her secret with Regina- Maleficent lost her baby because of Snow and Charming.

Once Upon A Time Recap - "Darkness on the Edge of Town" (S04E13)

The episode started back in the Forbidden Forrest "many years ago" in Maleficent's castle. Ursala enters and wants to know why she is there, and Maleficent would like to know the same thing. Before she can attack her unwelcome guest, 2 dogs come running at them. The dogs are followed by Cruella de Vil who would also like to know why she is there. Cruella sends her dogs away with her spell and Maleficent nearly attacks her until Rumpelstiltskin appears and informs them that he summoned them all there. He informs them that if they all work together, they too can get their happy endings and what their hearts desire.

Flash forward to Storybrooke. It's was really weird/refreshing to see Storybrooke in a normal setting. Regina is back as Mayor. She walks Henry to his bus stop. Snow White is teaching Henry's class. Emma sits in on Granny babysitting Neal, before heading to work. She meets Hook on her way and she leaves him at the library with Belle. The two of them are working on a way to free the fairies from the Sorcerer's hat. Hook gets frustrated and he and Belle talk about how they were both used by the Dark One. Hook tells Belle that as bad as Rumple is/was, he did really love her.

Rumple is now staying with Ursala in her New York apartment. The two bicker about his lack of delivering on promises. He replies to a mysterious email before they leave. They show up at a nice house where a man and all of his possessions are being taken by the FBI. Cruella is there and angrily takes one of her fur coats. Rumple and Ursala approach her and entice her with a plan to get everything she wants. She opens the garage and they leave in her car and go to...a fast food drive thru which thoroughly annoys Rumple (it's hilarious).

Emma talks with Regina and finds the storybook page that Robin had given her of them together. Emma asks Regina about it and she shares that it wasn't in the book and they thought it was a sign of hope when it appeared to him- before he left with his family. Hook and Belle rush in saying they know how to save the fairies. Belle says that one of the professors she reached out to (which is later revealed to be Rumple) had decoded one of the books for her. They take the hat and Regina casts a spell with the dagger. The fairies are freed as well as a monster that escapes them- it is a Chernabog.

Rumple leads the women into a cavern where a door is covered in blood beetles. Cruella puts them under her spell and they pass. They then come to a room filled with dragon's fire which Maleficent puts out. Ursala uses her tentacles to retrieve what Rumple is after and he informs them that he got what he wanted and now he is leaving them there to die. He leaves and the Chernabog prepares to attack them. The women hide and are afraid to see who he is going to attack first. Maleficent suggests that while it is attacking one, the other two escape and come back for the other. The three step out and the Chernabog goes after Maleficent (apparently she has the heart with the greatest capacity for darkness). She fears Ursala and Cruella have left her to die, but they rescue her.

A party is thrown at Granny's to celebrate the fairies' return. Hook doesn't want to attend because he is partly responsible  for their imprisonment in the hat. Emma reminds him that he only did it because Rumple had his heart and forced him too. They arrive at the party and Henry pushes Regina to ask the Blue Fairy about the Author/Sorcerer and they show her the blank book. Emma joins the conversation and says they found them at the Sorcerer's mansion and there are a ton there. Regina tells Blue what they are trying to do, and Blue says she isn't crazy. She also shares that the Author and the Sorcerer are two very different people. The way she says it indicates that she is afraid of the Author. She has no idea who either of them are. A loud noise is heard as the building shakes. They all go outside and see the Chernabog.

The realize it came from the hat and Belle tells them that they can't put him back in the hat because once you are in it, you can never be in it again. Regina and Emma blast it with their magic and temporarily disable it. Belle heads to the library to see what she can find. Snow gets everyone to safety. And Emma and Regina work on a plan.

Rumple, Ursala, and Cruella arrive outside of Storybrooke where Rumple tells them that the town is unseen because it is under a spell. He comes clean about everything and the women are furious. They want to know how they are going to be welcomed into the town with him there after he was kicked out. He gives them his cell phone and says they are going alone. He shares his plan with them and tells them he will wait there and if they are going to include him to get him that night- otherwise he will know they have chosen to live happily ever after in Storybrooke. They call Regina from the phone and she immediately recognizes Ursala's voice. Ursala says that Rumple found her in the city and reunited her and Cruella, but they ditched him after finding out about Storybrooke because they wanted a chance to have their happy endings. Emma and Regina discuss whether or not to trust them. The women hear the Chernabog, and share that they have battled it before and it goes after the person who has the potential for the darkest heart. Emma suggests they use the Snow Queen's scroll to help the women into the town. They decide that if the monster is magic, what would happen to it if it where to be in a land without magic. They decide to lead it to the town line and lure it over.

Emma tells her mom they have a plan but Snow is worried. Emma and Regina lure the beast to the town line, but Regina is afraid that Emma will get hurt because the beast is after her. She poofs to the edge of the line as the beast attacks the top of Emma's car. As she reaches the line, she slams on the breaks and the beast is thrown over the line and disappears. Snow and Charming appear and see Ursala and Cruella on the outside of the town. They tell Emma that they don't think it is a good idea to let them in and Regina comes tot heir defense. She says it wouldn't be fair for her to deny someone else their chance at a happy ending when she is working on getting her own. Emma agrees and they toss the scroll over the line. Ursala and Cruella open it and the town is revealed to them. They thank Regina and drive in.

Emma sits with Hook at Granny's and he asks where her parents are. She says she isn't sure because they were supposed to meet her there. She and Hook look on as Henry searches his story book for clues about who the Author is. Meanwhile, Snow and Charming meet up with Cruella and Ursala. They demand that the ladies keep their mouths shut about their past encounter in the Enchanted Forrest and if they tell Emma about it Snow threatens to rip their hearts out.

Later that night, Ursala and Cruella return for Rumple, tossing him the scroll as well. He has his magic back and lost his limp.Rumple aslo informs them that the Chernabog wasn't after Regina, it was after Emma... :O

Marvel's Agent Carter Recap - "SNAFU" (S01E07)

The episode begins with Peggy being interrogated by agents Sousa and Thompson at different times. Both men are trying to wear her down while Chief Dooley and the Russian doctor watch from the other side of the glass. Agent Sousa accuses Peggy of being one of Howard Stark's women and Agent Thompson demands to know what is going on. He tells her that it doesn't add up what the evidence is saying and what he witnessed in Russia. She keeps insisting that is because they are looking in the wrong place. Sousa tells her about all of the evidence they have against her and she is telling them that they are wrong and a trained killer is out there.

Jarvis shows up at the SSR and asks Rose to let him in. She plays dumb and insists she doesn't know what he's talking about. He asks her to page Chief Dooley and let him know that he has Howard Stark's signed confession. Peggy is taken into the conference room in handcuffs where Jarvis is waiting with Chief, Thompson and Sousa. They all want to know what is going on. Jarvis tells them that he has Howard's confession and they will receive the signed page that night when Howard arrives. In exchange, Mr. Stark demands Jarvis and Agent Carter's freedom. Dooley says they are to stay put and when Howard arrives with the signed document then they will be free to go but Peggy is fired. Dooley returns to his office where the doctor is waiting and Agent Sousa tells the men on the floor to keep an eye on Carter.

Jarvis informs Peggy that Howard is not coming and that he panicked when she didn't show so he wrote the confession himself. Peggy is furious because of course Howard will not be showing up, but she insists that she isn't mad at Jarvis- just at the situation.

Chief Dooley calls his wife and they make plans to have dinner together. He is hopeful that things will start moving in the right direction with his family again and he'll be able to stay at home again. Dr. Ivchenko continues to stand by the open window and talks to the Chief about his family. He looks outside and sends Morse code signals to Dottie who is across the street. She has just returned from buying a baby carriage. Peggy looks across the room and sees the doctor. She grabs a notepad and writes down what he is saying. She and Jarvis translate the code and realize that it is a timetable and that Leviathan is coming.

To gain back their trust, she tells Chief Dooley, Thompson, and Sousa everything. She tells them the truth about everything that has happened and why she conducted her own investigation. She calls them out on their shoty police work and bad investigation. She reminds them of how narrow minded they have been towards Stark and that is why she had to privately conduct her own investigation. They want to know how it was possible for her to run her own investigation right in front of their eyes without raising any suspicion. She tells them it's because she was invisible to them- that none of them see her unless she's filing, bringing them coffee, or bringing them their lunch. She accuses Dooley of seeing her as an abandoned kitten dropped of on his doorstep that he needs to protect. Thompson of seeing her as nothing more than a secretary. And Sousa of seeing her as a girl on a pedestal with questionable taste in men. She got away with it because she isn't seen. She tells them about Captain America's blood and how she stole it. She reveals that she isn't sure why she did it once she found out what it really was. She thinks that maybe she was trying to give herself a second chance at keeping him safe.

Dooley, Thompson, and Sousa meet in the hall and Sousa says he believes her. Thompson and Dooley accuse him of going soft, and Dooley instructs them to check the building across the street just in case. They take a team over and Dooley asks Dr. Ivchenko to close the window. The doctor questions him and Dooley plays it off, but he sees the men heading across the street. He hypnotizes Dooley and takes control of his mind. He has him lock Peggy and Jarvis in an interrogation room, handcuffing them to the table. He thenhas Dooley take him to the lab and get all of the scientists out. They look for Stark's invention number 17 and the doctor also takes a mysterious vest. He has Dooley walk him out and put on the vest.

Meanwhile, the agents dispurse in the building and Thompson tells Sousa that if he sees this woman, shoot to kill. After seeing what the little girl did to them in Russia, he's afraid to see one all grown up. Sousa runs into Dottie as she tries to escape. They fight and he shoots at her but she gets into the stairwell. The agents try to get her, but she kills one in her escape. The doctor picks her up and they drive away. Sousa finds the dead dentist and sees where she and the doctor have been communicating. He finds her messages, including one with that says to kill Peggy.

Jarvis and Peggy break the mirror to try and get out, but they realize they're still handcuffed to the table. Thompson hears the noise and comes in, letting them go. They rush to find Chief Dooley, who is in his office with the vest on. Jarvis immediately voices concern over Dooley wearing the vest, informing everyone that it is impossible to get off once it has been activated. They carefully get Dooley out of his office and he is angry with himself for trusting the doctor and letting him get in his head. The vest continues to heat up and gets closer to com-busting. The scientists and Jarvis can't find a way to get him out of it and Dooley accepts it. He asks Thompson to tell his wife he's sorry he missed dinner and he makes Peggy promise to catch Ivchenko. She promises and he replies with "attagirl" before taking off and shooting at a window. He jumps out just as the vest explodes. Sousa sees the explosion and rushes over only to find out that Dooley is dead.

Dottie takes the baby carriage into the movie theater and leaves it once the show starts. A gas can starts leaking from the the carriage. The people in the theater start coughing and then violently attacking one another until they are all dead.

Marvel's Agent Carter Recap - "A Sin to Err" (S01E06)

Dr. Ivchenko, the prisoner who was rescued in “The Iron Ceiling,” tells the sad tale of how he and others were forcefully recruited by Leviathan in Russia back in 1944.Peggy questions him about the girls who were being trained at the boarding school. She thinks that one of them killed Agent Krzeminski. and Chief Dooley gives her permission to follow up on her hunch.

Peggy asks Jarvisfor a list of all the ladies Howard Stark has "entertained" over the past six months. She learns that he gives a lovelybracelet to all his women, so the process of elimination begins from the jeweler’s client list. Despite Jarvis’s suspicions, Ginger Rogers is ruled out as a suspect. Peggy looks for a specific one of Stark’s women—someone with scars on her wrists from being handcuffed. Poor Jarvis endures slaps and kicks from many of the scorned women who don’t pan out.

Dottie sets up shop in an office across the street from the SSR offices after brutally disposing of the sleazy dentist who worked there. Across the street, Dr. Ivchenko deduces that Dooley is having problems with his marriage. He gazes out the window of the chief’s office. Dottie has the doc lined up in the scope of her rifle. She’s not going to shoot him though. She instead sends him a message via flashing lights. Dr. Ivchenko covertly responds using Morse code. His orders for Dottie are, "Give him more time to find the item and to kill Peggy Carter."

Agent Thompson blows off Agent Yauch’s concern about the chief spending too much time with the Russian doctor. Dr. Ivchenko attempts to hypnotize Chief Dooley who snaps out of it when Agent Sousa interrupts. Sousa chatted with Sheldon McFee, the milk truck driver who was caught transporting explosives in “Bridge and Tunnel.”  and he has identified Peggy as the person who beat him up.

A woman named Ida left a cleaned-out apartment with a bed that indicates handcuffs were used on the post. Peggy believes she’s the one they are looking for. She meets up with Jarvis to touch base. While doing so, she notices that she’s being surrounded by SSR agents. Peggy goes into full takedown mode to make an escape. Unfortunately, Thompson is waiting outside for her. Peggy has no choice but to take him down, too. Sousa shows up moments later, but he can’t shoot her. Later, Chief Dooley brands Peggy Carter a fugitive.

Dr. Ivachenko uses his time with Agent Yauch, who is ordered to babysit him, to manipulate him. He hypnotizes Yauch to tell him where Howard Stark’s inventions are being kept. He also learns all the exit routes. He then convinces Yauch to leave the office, have a drink and step into the path of a moving vehicle and kill himself.

After her encounter with Thompson and Sousa, Peggy races to her apartment to get Captain Steve Rogers’s blood. Thompson, Sousa and a team of agents are in hot pursuit. When Peggy hears them approaching her room, she climbs out onto the ledge of the building to avoid capture. She carefully edges her way over to the next apartment where Angie sees her. When the SSR agents come into her room asking her if she's seen Peggy, Angie covers for her by breaking down in tears over the thought of her grandmother telling them that Peggy told her she was going to visit her ill grandmother. The SSR agents vacate the apartment awkwardly.

Angie had mentioned plans to give up acting earlier but is now reconsidering. She helps Peggy in off the ledge and confesses that she knew she didn’t work at the phone company. She looks forward to learning what all this is about someday, but for now she says goodbye to her friend. Peggy gives Angie a goodbye hug and she steps into the hall where another familiar face awaits.

Dottie steps up to Peggy and she plants an unexpected kiss on her. Peggy becomes woozy after the kiss and she realizes that Dottie had used her lipstick. She realizes that Dottie is not who she seems and is probably the woman she has been searching for as she falls unconscious. Dottie pulls out a switchblade, about to kill Peggy, but before she can act, the SSR arrives. They arrest Peggy and bring her in for questioning. Chief Dooley instructs Thompson and Sousa not go easy on her just because she's a girl.

Once Upon A Time is about Emma Swan who is brought to the small town of Storybrooke, Maine on her 28th birthday by her 10 year old son, Henry, whom she had given up for adoption when he was born. She is shocked that Henry found her and concerned about the fact that he went to Boston by himself. She decides to take him back to his town and on the way she notices a story book he is holding on to. He informs her that she is in the story book.
