DIY Lip Scrub

I have come across a recipe for an amazing lip scrub and I have to share it with you guys. I hate spending money on scrubs because I know they're over priced and I know I can make a more natural one myself. This one is by far my favorite lip scrub that I have ever tried.

What you need:

1 TBSP brown sugar
1 tsp honey
1 tsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

The cinnamon is optional because it increases blood flow so it will act as a natural plumper for your lips. If you don't like that burning/tingling feeling that a plumper gives your lips then don't include that. The vanilla is also optional because it smells amazing.

A little bit of this goes a long way so I would recommend getting a little container (you can find them at the dollar store or I see them in packs of 4 at Publix all the time) and storing it in there. It can be stored at room temperature since everything is a dry ingredient.

Best Eye Shadow Palettes - Urban Decay

So the other day, I was looking through the drawers in my vanity and realized I have a lot of makeup palettes. Like a lot. Like, it's sort of a problem. So I decided to review my top ones.

1. XX Vice Ltd. Reloaded

This palette is by far my favorite. I love every single color in this palette (which never happens) including two green colors that I was very unsure of. The colors look great on and I always get a ton of compliments on my eyeshadow. Some of my favorites include "Moonflower," "Hot Pants," "Asphyxia," "Misdemeanor," "Freakshow," "Twice Baked," and "Smog." When you use a primer, you barely need any eyeshadow for the colors to pop. It's great. I love the range of this palette.

2. Smoked Palette

This palette is what I call and oldie but a goodie. I'm obsessed with the color "Mushroom." It's this stunning dark silver color that looks amazing with black and equally amazing with brown. I typically wear it with brown during the day, and black for going out. The other colors in this palette are gorgeous jewel tones. They are so pretty.

3. Naked Smoky Palette

This is by far the best and most versatile of the Naked series. There are dark colors and lighter colors and they all work well together. "Dirtysweet" and "Radar" work great together as well as "Armor" and "Slanted." There is a plum color called "Smolder" that looks great with everything.

4. Naked On the Run

This palette only has 5 eyeshadow colors to it, but they are really pretty. The rose gold color is so stunning and the browns are really verstile. This palette also includes blush, bronzer, a beautiful highlighter, a dark brown eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss.

5. Naked 2

This palette is pretty and works best for everyday use. The colors are pretty and this palette is full of nudes and browns. It does get kind of boring after a while though.

Ulta Haul

These Urban Decay lip sets are amazing. I'm obsessed with them! The pencils go on so well and so do the lipsticks. I love how they feel and the colors are gorgeous. I wore the red for the entire weekend when I first got it and I got 4 compliments from strangers on it. Everyone seems to agree that it is like the perfect red.
  • Revolution Lipstick in "Naked" (nude pink)
  • 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in "Naked" (nude pink)
  • Revolution Lipstick in "F-Bomb" (classic red)
  • 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in "69" (classic red)
Get the lipstick here and the lip liner here.
The Semi-Sweet palette from Too Faced is so pretty and of course it smells delicious! I wasn't too sure about it, because of the blue shadow. It just seems really random and I'm not a fan of bright blue eye shadows, but it goes on surprisingly pretty. It's also not as vibrant on as it is in the palette, but that will change depending on the amount you put on and if you use primer or not. The colors are:
  • Pink Sugar
  • Blueberry Swirl
  • Bon Bon
  • Butter Pecan
  • Caramel
  • Frosting
  • Rum Raisin
  • Hot Fudge
  • Cocoa Chili
  • Coconut Crème
  • Licorice
  • Mousse
  • Nougat
  • Peanut Butter
  • Puddin'
  • Truffled
Get it here.
Another item from Too Faced, the Selfie Powder. It's made to give you a photo finish look like the filters on Instagram. I like them a lot, but I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping for more of a dramatic effect, but there really isn't one. I like the sunrise (the yellow-ish one) because I feel like it evens your skin tone a little. However, they are just finishing powders so with that in mind, they do work pretty well. Just don't try to use them for more than that.
  • Sunrise: Instantly brightens with diffused warmth
  • Totally Toasted: Bronzes with a smoothing glow
  • Moon River: Adds a cool ethereal light to the skin
Get it here.

I also got these Rimmel London Scandal Eyes eye shadow sticks in "Bulletproof Beige" and "Witness White" and they're great. I love just swiping the Beige one on in the morning for a gold shimmer on my eyes- it is just a natural pretty color and I don't have a problem with them creasing. I like to use the white one for my inner rim or the inner corners of my eyes. I want to go back and get a few more colors.

Red Lip Inspiration

When you think of red lips, who do you think of? For me it's Taylor Swift followed by Gwen Stefani. They both rock the cherry lip and make it look effortless and chic no matter what the occasion. I love the look.

Then I started thinking about other women who rock the style and two brunettes came to mind: Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) and Nikki Bella. They make it look so sexy and sophisticated.

So now I am just going to post some pictures of some hot red lipstick wearing ladies who totally rock this trend.

Top 5 Lip Products

My top 5 lip products:

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in "Dragon Girl" - a siren red
    • I love this red. It's like a berry red and it's so pretty. I really like that the pencil is like a crayon. It makes applying it so simple and quick which are major bonuses for me. I also like that you don't really need to use a lip liner with it because it's kind of like a big lip liner in itself. (this is the color Taylor Swift wore to the Met Gala in 2014) - $26.00
Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge in "8 Iconic Red"

    • This red is stunning. If you are going for a classic red color that won't budge- this is your product. It dries quickly after applying it and you can leave it matte or use the clear gloss for a nice shine. It stays really well on your lips and it's honestly so beautiful. (Taylor Swift used this a lot during the RED Tour) - $24.00
Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in "Melted Peony" - a dusty rose

    • I think this is such a pretty shade of pink. It's a neutral pink that works for a nice everyday look. I really like the way the lipstick goes on. It feels nice and has a good pigmented color. The applicator is a soft brush. - $21.00
Clinique Almost Lipstick in "Black Honey"

    • It's such a pretty color! The stick looks dark, but it goes on pretty sheer so you can build it up if you want a darker lip. It's a really good color for fall and it feels nice and smooth when it goes on. - $16.00

Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter in "Strawberry Shortcake"

    • I am obsessed with lip butters. They feel so good on your lips! The colors are actually pretty pigmented- I was expected a sheer color but it was a nice surprise. The Creme Brulee color also makes for a really pretty nude lip that doesn't make you look dead. The Strawberry Shortcake is just a pretty pink that adds a nice pop of color. - $8.49
